Visit the sites that made turn-of-the-century Denver the grandest city between St. Louis and San Francisco, from the Brown Palace, to the state Capitol, to the Byers-Evans House via the Civic Center Park.

Our first stop is the Brown Palace Hotel, where dignitaries from U.S. Presidents to the Beatles have stayed in luxury. We will walk across the street to the Navarre, the notorious brothel with underground tunnels to the Brown Palace, so patrons would not be seen from the street. The next stop will be the Colorado State Capitol, which epitomized Victorian ideals in its architecture and refinement. From there, we will visit the stately Byers-Evans House, and stroll through the grandeur of Civic Center Park.

We'll talk about the charm of 19th century small town life --- and some of its scandals!
Take the lightrail or drive to the Littleton Downtown Lightrail Station. We'll start at the depot, where folks have been meeting up for over 130 years!

Hear about the most notorious saloons and bordellos in Denver history! We will visit Larimer Square, once the seediest skid row in Denver. We will continue on to Market Street, named for the flesh market that proliferated there, and enter the infamous home of famed Madame Mattie Silks, where patrons could once upon a time get tokens "good for one screw."
From the D&F Tower at Arapahoe and 16th, this tour takes in Larimer Square, the blood-red Cruise Room with art deco history far from politically correct, Mattie's lovingly restored House of Mirrors, before ending at the Wynkoop Brewery, home of the best beer in Denver, for free samples of their home brewed best!
