REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
  • A minimum of 30 students, a maximum of 50 --- depending on number of students, class may be broken into two pieces, with two guides
  • In addition to the teacher, one adult chaperone for each 6 students
  • You and your students will be outside much of the time …please come dressed for the weather!
  • You will need to provide sleeping bags and other necessary apparel for an overnight on the ballroom floor at the Grant-Humphreys Mansion
  • The Grant-Humphreys Mansion has bathrooms available, but no showers. The morning of your second day will start without baths or showers
  • You will need to arrange for your own transportation to and from downtown. Should you be attending a Friday-Saturday camp, this will include public or family transportation on that Saturday, assuming your school doesn’t provide buses weekends
  • The morning meal on the second day will be light; orange juice, bananas, rolls, etc. Parents may send along non-perishable items for that meal; these will be stored with the sleeping gear during the first day
  • Given the high status of the Grant-Humphreys Mansion among Colorado Historical Society sites, you will be responsible for ensuring that the house is cleaned up after you and your students have stayed there. A Colorado Historical Society representative will be in the house with you at all times during your stay.
  • The Byers-Evans House will also be available for any students who become ill, are too tired to continue with the activities, or otherwise need a place to remove themselves from the day. Any students thus removed must be accompanied by a chaperone.
